Evidence photos released to InMaricopa today give the first public look at what officers say they found inside the Sonny Road rental home where accused FEMA fraudster Katrina Woods was living this spring: a cache of illegal firearms, rows of cannabis products stockpiled in a child’s bedroom and other contraband.

The April 23 search also resulted in the arrest of Woods’s live-in boyfriend, Jeffrey Walker, on an outstanding warrant.

The newly released images were taken during execution of a Maricopa Police Department search warrant at the Maricopa Meadows home. One photo shows a Ruger Security 9 pistol hidden in the lining of a sectional couch. Others depict additional guns pulled from boxes of clothing, including a Glock 22, a Taurus revolver, a Kel-Tec P50 and a Tennessee Arms short-barreled rifle. Investigators noted there was no federally required tax stamp for the rifle, classifying the weapon as prohibited under Arizona law.

Detectives test fired that weapon at the Park Plaza police station.

Additional photos show dozens of branded THC vape cartridges, edibles, baggies and a golden grinder. Detectives recorded that the cannabis products were found in a child’s bedroom and described the overall mix of drugs, packaging and firearms as “indicia of unlawful marijuana sales.”

Walker, who police note is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms, was detained outside during the operation and booked on a failure-to-appear warrant out of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. Because several of the seized firearms were accessible in shared areas, police said he could also face weapons charges. He remains held in the Pinal County jail; the files in his prior felony case are sealed.

Woods was arrested inside after initially refusing commands to come out, questioned and booked on state fraud and forgery counts connected to the Sonny Road lease, a case that began when property managers flagged a suspicious application using a Florida woman’s identity. She later pleaded guilty in Pinal County Superior Court and was placed on probation in the local case.

Investigators also seized a broken iPhone from her bathroom, an iPad and laptop from the garage, and opened Amazon packages addressed to various unrelated people. Separately, a Florida driver’s license in Woods’s name recovered during the search was later confirmed by Florida authorities to be a fake.

The federal case against Woods, 33, stems from a FEMA disaster-relief claim alleging she used a nonexistent Altadena, Calif., address to draw $23,441 in aid tied to January’s Eaton Fire while living in Maricopa. A Los Angeles judge on Tuesday moved her trial date to Dec. 16 while prosecutors and defense counsel finalize a plea agreement; Woods is due back in court early next week for a status update.
