Get ready to roll up your sleeves this weekend.

The City of Maricopa’s “Keep Maricopa Beautiful” community clean-up event is returning Saturday morning, giving residents a chance to spend part of the morning cleaning up the city.

Volunteers will meet at 8 a.m. at the Maricopa Community Center, 41614 W. Smith-Enke Road, Suite 100, for the roughly hourlong effort aimed at helping keep Maricopa clean and welcoming.

The event is open to residents, families, students and community groups looking to give back while making a visible impact around town.

Students seeking community service hours can also participate, with organizers available to sign off on volunteer time.

Can’t attend Saturday? Community clean-up kits are available for pickup at the Community Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday for those interested in cleaning up neighborhoods or other public areas on their own time.

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, bring water and prepare for a little early-morning cleanup work.
