Pinal County Environmental Health inspectors conducted 19 inspections across Maricopa kitchens and food service sites between March 2 and March 12, issuing mostly excellent ratings while documenting violations at three locations, including one satisfactory rating that ended the city’s clean inspection streak.
The following establishments were rated excellent:

- Brooklyn Boys Pizzeria and Restaurant
- No certified food protection manager on site.

- Insect control devices placed too close to food prep areas.
The following establishments were rated satisfactory:
- Duke’s Roadhouse
- Mechanical ware-washing equipment did not meet required sanitizer concentration.
- No consumer advisory for undercooked animal foods).
- Person in charge could not provide food handler certification records for the staff.
This marks the first satisfactory rating issued in Maricopa since Dec. 30.
What the ratings mean
Excellent: All priority standards are observed as compliant. Some nonpriority standards may be critiqued.
Satisfactory: One or more priority standards is out of compliance. All priority standards are corrected at the time of inspection.
Needs improvement: One or more priority standards is out of compliance and at least one violation is not corrected at the time of inspection. Once violations are corrected during a follow-up inspection, a satisfactory rating is issued.
Unacceptable: One or more violations is considered an imminent health hazard. When violations are corrected during a follow-up inspection, the rating becomes satisfactory.
