A 37-year-old man was arrested last week after police say he gave a false name while being investigated for a code violation with his food truck.
Shortly after 3 p.m. Friday, a public safety aide called for assistance in handling a permit issue at 44400 W. Honeycutt Ave., according to a probable cause statement.
The food truck operator initially identified himself as “John Brown” and admitted to operating the truck without a required city permit. However, officers were unable to verify that identity.
With further questioning, the man verbally identified himself as David Wynter, which officers confirmed through driver’s license records.
Police said Wynter had prior contact with safety aides about similar violations in recent months and had been cited for operating the food truck without a permit.
When asked why he gave a false name, Wynter allegedly said he “did not want to deal with being cited again.
He was arrested on suspicion of false reporting to a law enforcement agency, a class 1 misdemeanor that can result in $2,500 in fines and up to six months in jail.

Arrest operator and confiscate the vehicle for 30 days. Lesson taught, lesson learned.
