You don’t have to buy a one-way ticket on a westbound train to see multi-platinum recording artist LeAnn Rimes. She’ll be in Maricopa on Saturday, April 5, headlining the Wild West Music Fest at Copper Sky.

The city announced the headliner in a news release Thursday.

Rimes is the youngest solo artist to win a Grammy at just 14 years old. Her hits are “How Do I Live,” “Blue” and “Can’t Fight the Moonlight.”

“How Do I Live” holds the record as Billboard’s Hot 100 all-time No. 1 hit by a female artist and ranks No. 6 on Billboard’s Greatest of All Time: Hot 100 Songs.

Maricopa city leaders and their partner for the festival, Scottsdale-based Steve LeVine Entertainment, say they will announce more artists soon.

This is the second year the city is hosting the Wild West Music Fest.

The three-day festival takes place from April 4 through April 6. Single-day tickets start at $15 for kids ages 5 to 12 and $30 for adults. Tickets on Sunday are cheaper: $5 for kids and $15 for adults.

The city says the festival will be about twice as big as it was in year No. 1. In addition to a full-sized Ferris wheel, there will be a dozen other carnival rides, a fleet of food trucks and other attractions.

“We are excited to welcome the amazing LeAnn Rimes to this year’s festival,” said Steve LeVine, CEO of SLE. “Her iconic voice has resonated with audiences worldwide and we are honored to bring her talent to Maricopa.”

Mayor Nancy Smith added, “The Wild-West Music Fest is a highlight for our city, and this year’s talent lineup is going to make it even more unforgettable. It’s a chance to make memories and celebrate the growing, vibrant community we have here in Maricopa.”
