A man accused of kidnapping and beating a woman with a firearm in southwest Maricopa was arrested Sunday night.

Maricopa Police Department received a 911 call just before midnight Saturday from a woman reporting that her friend was actively texting her about being assaulted by Beau Fisher, 36, at a home on Steen Road.

According to the probable cause statement, the friend said Fisher had punched the woman 10 times in the stomach. The friend was not at the address when the incident occurred.

Police arrived at the home in the 40000 block of Steen, near Porter Road, just before midnight. However, no one answered the door or was seen or heard inside, so officers did not have enough cause to enter.

“Patrol personnel did not have sufficient cause to force entry,” department spokesperson Monica Williams told InMaricopa. “As a result, MPD was unaware of the events unfolding in the home as detailed by the victim the following day.”

The alleged victim showed up to report the crime at the Maricopa police station Sunday with “injuries to her face and head,” according to the probable cause statement.

She told officers that while they were outside her home, Fisher held a gun to her head and threatened to shoot her if she made any noise. Officers noted swelling on her left temple.

After police left, Fisher reportedly strangled and suffocated her by covering her mouth multiple times throughout the night. She estimated he restricted her breathing about 12 times and struck her in the head and face with his fists and the gun.

“As soon as the victim came forward with the details,” Williams said, “… we had probable cause to pursue the arrest of Beau Fisher. With the assistance of the Pinal County Regional SWAT Team, he was taken into custody Sunday evening during the service of the search warrant.”

Fisher was booked into the Pinal County jail on charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and weapons misconduct. Police also discovered he possessed multiple firearms illegally due to his status as a convicted felon.
