Maricopa ranked No. 33 among the nation’s 50 fastest-growing suburbs in a new MoneyLion study released Friday.

According to the report, Maricopa’s population grew from 48,629 in 2019 to 67,163 in 2024, a five-year increase of 38.1%.

The study lists Maricopa’s median household income at $96,391, with an average home value of $345,104 and an estimated annual cost of living of $48,182.

MoneyLion defined suburbs as places with at least 5,000 households that are not named cities in the metropolitan area. It used 2019 and 2024 American Community Survey data from the U.S. Census to measure population growth, household counts and median household income.

The report included only suburbs that posted at least 20% total population growth from 2019 to 2024.

Texas dominated the rankings with 15 suburbs on the list, including the top two: Fulshear, which posted 252% growth, and Celina, which grew 208.3%. Wildwood, Fla., ranked third with 157.5% growth.

Maricopa was one of four Arizona communities on the list. Buckeye ranked No. 20 with 50.4% growth, while Goodyear placed No. 40 with 33.9%. Coolidge came in at No. 49 with 31.2% growth.

Among Arizona cities in the study, Maricopa’s average home value was lower than Buckeye’s $396,581 and Goodyear’s $470,145, but higher than Coolidge’s $272,141. Its reported annual cost of living was also lower than Buckeye’s $52,615 and Goodyear’s $57,301, but higher than Coolidge’s $42,210.

MoneyLion said 23 of the 50 fastest-growing suburbs on its list have median household incomes below $100,000 a year. The report also found four suburbs where residents can live comfortably on less than $75,000 annually: Lebanon, Tenn.; Haines City, Fla.; Leesburg, Fla.; and Coolidge.

The study said all data was current as of March 27.
