A Maricopa man was arrested on suspicion of DUI for the second time in less than a month after police spotted his truck through a Flock camera system, according to a probable cause statement.
Police arrested 59-year-old Gregory Picard Oct. 6 after officers received an alert for a white 2004 Toyota Tacoma registered to him. The alert indicated Picard’s driver’s license was suspended following a May DUI, according to the statement.
Officers spotted the truck near Sonoran Desert Parkway and Manderas Lane at about 3:47 p.m. and confirmed Picard’s identity.
During the investigation, officers reported finding an unopened shooter of New Amsterdam vodka in the truck’s cupholder and a cap from another New Amsterdam vodka bottle inside the center console.
Police said Picard showed signs of impairment during three roadside sobriety tests. He declined to provide a blood sample, so officers obtained a search warrant and had his blood drawn that night.
Picard was booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center on charges of driving with a suspended license and three DUI-related counts, including aggravated DUI allegations involving a suspended license and two prior DUI arrests within 84 months, according to the statement.
It’s not his first DUI arrest. InMaricopa previously reported his Sept. 16 arrest after police responded to a reported altercation involving a man and a woman. Officers later reported seeing him drive erratically and show signs of impairment. That arrest included allegations of aggravated DUI, disorderly conduct, assault, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license.
Picard is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 16.
