I’m a dad first. But I’m also a numbers guy. I ask questions, look at what something costs and expect to see results. That is how I approached Proposition 416.
As a dad, I want the best opportunities for my daughter. All Maricopa children deserve the best a public education has to offer.
The override helps MUSD manage class sizes and keep classroom technology current. Those investments improve classrooms and help retain good teachers.
It also funds RAM Academy, where about 60 students earn diplomas each year through credit recovery as they struggle in general education classes. Students who seek this opportunity for education, it can make all the difference. Students will leave MUSD with a diploma and more opportunities ahead of them.
Proposition 416 is not a new tax. It continues locally controlled funding Maricopa voters approved in 2016 and renewed in 2021.
I have looked at the numbers. The dollars are targeted, the district has used them responsibly and students are seeing the results.
That is an investment I can stand behind.
Vote YES on Proposition 416.
