Maricopa’s Planning & Zoning Commission has new leadership.
Commissioners last night unanimously elected sitting Vice Chair Robert Klob as chair of the board, following a nomination by Commissioner Robert Brems. The seat had been left vacant after James Singleton’s resignation last month.
Singleton is currently running for Maricopa City Council, and municipal code requires any non-salaried member of a committee, commission or task force to resign upon filing nomination paperwork.
Klob joined the commission last year and was elected vice chair in January. He has also served as vice chair for the Pinal County Planning & Zoning Commission since 2023.
Following the vote, Klob nominated Brems as his successor. Brems was also unanimously elected to the role.
Brems joined the commission in 2023, saying his drive was to “bring the perspective of family-centric planning” to the zoning board’s decision-making process.
“Welcome to the cool kids club,” Klob said following the vote.

Cool kids club?22 thousand apartments with NO jobs from the jobs guru Christian Price is now cool?More like its NOT cool to destroy our once small, safe city. And they’re going to give the sidewalk to e-bikes and e-scooters on the promise they obey the rules!Laughable at best.A certain disaster in the making but will not make the news most likely as that’s bad press for an irresponsible quick fix after flooding our streets with traffic because we want growth, growth and growth. We want big city problems in our once safe city outside of the lunacy that we moved away from and to here for.Vote out the people responsible for this debacle.Term limits in MUSD school board,Mayor and Council and Pinal County Supervisors. They do not have the wishes of the taxpayer in their agendas, just the tax burden.
Right on…..the dumbing down of the City of Maricopa and Arizona.
And don’t forget the new Bill by Demorats that pays rent to the landlords(builders) on behalf of ‘those that cannot afford to pay’. The Bill starts at $5 Million and will be increased.
Arizona used to be an affordable State…..but with more social programs being introduced and increases in funding…..it is becoming unaffordable for those who pay taxes.
Texas and Florida are much more affordable.
If Arizona continues in its LEFT trajectory…it will also see an exodus just like California and New York.
There are approximately 8 million people in Arizona and almost 1 million on SNAP. Really?????
