ORIGINAL STORY: The city of Maricopa will debut its newest public space with live music next month with a return of its Concerts in the Park series.
In a Facebook post, city officials announced the free concert series will open at Mike Ingram Heritage Park’s new amphitheater on Saturday, March 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. The concert marks the first public performance at the venue and follows the park’s ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for Feb. 24.
The band Sedona Red is set to perform, offering what organizers described as a family-friendly evening of live music. Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the show.
Mike Ingram Heritage Park is the city’s newest park development, and officials say the concert is intended to introduce the community to the space and showcase the amphitheater as a new gathering place for residents.
The event is free and open to the public. City officials said additional events are expected to be announced as the park officially opens to the community.
