Tony Smith: Why I support Henry Wade for city council

[Submitted]

Henry Wade has spent more than a decade serving the residents of Maricopa with steady leadership, integrity and a deep commitment to community. In a time when consistency and trust matter more than ever, his record speaks clearly to why I support Henry for re-election to Maricopa’s city council.

A distinguished Air Force veteran, Henry has carried his sense of duty from military service into public life. His ongoing work with local veteran organizations reflects not only his respect for those who have served, but also his willingness to continue serving alongside them. That same dedication is evident in his role as liaison to the city’s youth youncil, where he invested time and energy in mentoring young leaders and encouraging civic engagement among the next generation.

Henry’s leadership also extends to his work with the Planning and Zoning Commission, where thoughtful growth and responsible development are critical to Maricopa’s future. He understands that a thriving city requires vision, careful planning and transparency — and he has consistently demonstrated all three.

I’ve seen Henry’s character up close. A few years ago, we were opponents in a race for county supervisor. Campaigns can test a person’s character, and Henry ran his with honor and respect. That experience only strengthened my appreciation for who he is — not just as a public servant, but as a person.

For all these reasons, I am proud to support Henry Wade. His experience, his integrity, and his commitment to Maricopa make him the right choice to continue serving on city council.

I hope you will join me in voting to re-elect Henry Wade to City Council this July.

Tony Smith, Board Member of Maricopa Community Foundation and former mayor

  1. Anyone that kneels for a fake organization such as BLM that divided America more than anything should not be hailed as a community leader. And anyone voting for 22,000 apartments that destroyed our once safe city should not be voted in again and again to vote in lockstep with the Smiths vision of OUR city.Term limits, and Tony…..please,please go away. And take the Queen with you.

      1. We all know what they really mean when they say “apartments”…especially when they mention “BLM” in the same paragraph.

  2. I support electing me for city council. I will do nothing because I don’t know how to run anything. GunnerZ818 for Maricopa city council.
