[David Iverson]

A little boy is home safe following a close call with a car this afternoon.

Around 3:30 p.m., a dark blue sedan collided with a boy on his bicycle near the intersection of Rancho El Dorado Parkway and Vintage Drive.

A Pinal County Sheriff’s deputy told InMaricopa EMTs checked the boy for injuries and confirmed he was OK to return home with his parents. The boy was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The family declined to comment on the incident.

Since October, there have been at least seven other reported crashes at or near the intersection.

This is a breaking story, check back for updates. David Iverson contributed to this report.
