A white SUV lay on its roof in the northbound lanes of State Route 347 near Papago Road Thursday afternoon after a rollover crash.
“DPS is investigating a collision at northbound SR 347. There are unknown injuries,” a state police spokesperson said.
Reader Rachel Epperson called the three-vehicle crash into the InMaricopa newsroom at 4:15 p.m.
Arizona Department of Public Safety and Ak-Chin tribal police were on scene near Papago Road. Pinal County Sheriff’s Office assisted directing traffic.
Debris from the rollover littered the intersection, which local leaders have said is in sore need of a new traffic signal. Construction is tentatively scheduled to start on that stoplight in August, still seven months away.

“None of you can drive in this town, can you?” reacted nearby resident Nick Kempp, who witnessed the incident. The same intersection was the site of another rollover crash in August.
The crash occurred the same day a motorcyclist was killed in a separate collision along SR 347 early this morning.
In related traffic news, Maricopa Police, Fire and Medical crews responded to a separate crash on John Wayne Parkway at Honeycutt Avenue around 4:30 p.m. That collision has since been cleared.
Maricopa Police also said a crash was called out at Honeycutt and Porter Roads just before 3:15pm. In that two-car crash, one vehicle failed to yield at the light and was cited.
