Mark your calendars — it’s time for another discussion about State Route 347.
The Arizona Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting next Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Maricopa Library and Cultural Center to discuss upcoming improvements to the city’s most hallowed highway.
Those improvements over the next few years include:
- Adding one lane to SR 347 in each direction, widening the bridges at Santa Rosa Wash, Santa Cruz Wash and the Gila River, and improvements at the intersections of Sacate and Maricopa Roads
- Building a bridge interchange at Riggs Road that would separate cross-street traffic
- Improving the intersections at Casa Blanca Road and Mammoth Way, the access road to the cement plant
The meeting is slated for the library’s Redwood Rooms, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. A formal presentation will begin at 6 p.m. and presenters will take questions from the public around 6:30 p.m.
