A child was killed in a two-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 10 at State Route 347 early this morning.
The crash shut down SR 347 at I-10 shortly after 6:30 a.m. and it was unknown when it would reopen.
A Ford Explorer SUV lost control when its tire blew out, Arizona Department of Public Safety officials said. The SUV ran into a dirt median into the eastbound lane and was hit by a pickup truck and rolled over, DPS reported.
An unidentified boy riding in the front seat of the of the SUV died at the scene, DPS stated.
Four people inside the pickup truck were unhurt.
DPS reported that no criminal charges are pending.
