Extrication needed after rollover crash in Santa Rosa Springs

UPDATE 11:23 a.m. Feb. 25, 2025 Two adult drivers were evaluated on the scene, according to MPD spokesperson Monica Williams. One was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

ORIGINAL 8:25 a.m. Feb. 25, 2025 A rollover crash required an extrication in Santa Rosa Springs this morning, according to Phoenix Regional Dispatch.

Maricopa Police Department confirmed it was investigating a two-car rollover crash that occurred just after 8 a.m. at the intersection of Porter and Iron Point Roads.

A grey SUV was on its roof in the intersection at 8:30 a.m. Its airbags had deployed and there was damage to its passenger side. A grey Honda Civic had sustained damage to its front. There was a downed street sign in the median and a large amount of shattered glass in the roadway.

Northbound Porter Road is reduced to a single lane. Southbound Porter Road is closed; drivers are being rerouted onto Iron Point Road to access Sonoran Desert Parkway.

Maricopa Fire Engine 572 responded with MPD and an ambulance. The ambulance left the scene around 8:20 a.m.
