Maricopa High School is turning 70 this year and is throwing a party to celebrate. All alumni, current students, staff and community members are invited to the party on Friday, Sept. 5.
The free event honors the school’s legacy since it first opened its doors in September 1955. Organizers say the celebration will include family-friendly activities, student-led campus tours and opportunities for alumni to reconnect by graduation year.
“This is a chance for the entire Maricopa community to come together and celebrate decades of learning, tradition and Ram pride,” the school district said in a release.
Additional highlights of the evening will include a dedicated Kids Zone, ‘Grad Year zones’ for networking and connection, a look at future building plans for the old gym and the 800 building, which was once used as the middle school. Students will also lead guided tours to showcase the school’s history and growth.
The event is open to the public and hosted on the Maricopa High School campus. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP to receive more details and updates.
The celebration is sponsored by Maricopa DECA, a student organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.
