A new State Farm office marked its five-month anniversary with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Hosted in partnership with the Greater Maricopa Business Alliance, a little more than a dozen people gathered Saturday afternoon to celebrate and welcome State Farm agent Rene Chavez on opening his office. The business is located at 41620 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, Suite 105.
Chavez opened the office in October after years in the banking industry and called the move “perfect timing,” especially after family introduced him to recruiters with the insurance giant.
“I had already seen the writing on the wall with the growth the city has had. When I approached State Farm for an opportunity in Maricopa, it was just perfect timing,” he said. “They said they needed a new agent here, just five minutes away from where I live.”
Since then, Chavez has built a small team with years of customer service experience and the ability to serve clients in both English and Spanish.
“We’re small but we’re really coming into our own now by meeting a lot of great people and doing things for the community,” he said.
The agency provides a wide range of coverage, including car, home, renters, motorcycle and business insurance.
Kelly Anderson, executive director of the Greater Maricopa Business Alliance, said the organization is always excited to welcome new businesses to the city.
“We’re really proud of Rene and his family. He did a major life change by deciding to open this State Farm office here in Maricopa,” she said. “We just wish him and the whole family all the success in the world.”
