It’s a throwback to the ‘40s this weekend in Maricopa.
A pin-up contest also brings a tiki bar and hot rods tomorrow morning, all for the sake of helping veterans.
Alterra resident Samanthalynn Peterson, owner of Az Car Show Babez, is holding the second annual tiki pin-up contest 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at The Roost under her pin-up alias, Vixen VonRaven.
The inaugural event was held in Marana last year.
Peterson has 20 pin-ups registered for the contest, which she said offers them a place to see their self-worth and value. After the contest, anyone who brings their car can have a photoshoot with the pin-ups.
While the pin-up registration has closed, Peterson said the public is welcome to bring their car, spectate the contest and sip tropical adult beverages.
There will be a 50/50 raffle and other raffles of donated items like a $200 tattoo voucher for the Enchanted Dragon in Tucson. People who enter must be present to win.
All funds are going toward Phoenix-based Legends Military Store.
