‘Guns were drawn’: 2 arrested for auto theft, drugs at Ak-Chin casino

Two people are in the Pinal County jail after Ak-Chin Police Department arrested them on auto theft and drugs charges last week.

An Ak-Chin PD spokesman identified the suspects as Jeffrey Jacobsen, 56, and Janice Nobbe, 53.

Both are set to make an initial appearance tomorrow in Pinal County Superior Court. Bond was set at $2,500 for each defendant.

Ak-Chin spokesman Matthew Benson said at 1 p.m. Aug. 19 Ak-Chin police and Maricopa Police Department arrested the passenger in a stolen car parked at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Hotel and Casino. Officers found and arrested the driver inside the casino, Benson said.

Both were taken into custody and booked at the Pinal County Detention Center, Benson said.

“Guns were drawn,” reported Craig Chojnowski, a Glennwilde resident who witnessed the arrests.
