Some furry friends and local first responders are teaming up for what might be the cutest fundraiser ever.

If that led to visions of a big burly fireman holding an itty-bitty kitty, you’re on the right track.

Little Whiskers Animal Rescue is releasing a 2027 calendar in partnership with International Association of Fire Fighters and Maricopa Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 78, pairing police and firefighters with furry counterparts for a fundraiser benefiting the Maricopa Shelter Project.

“When you see a big fireman holding a kitty, it’s just so cute,” said president of Little Whiskers Animal Rescue Brittney McCarthy.

The rescue nonprofit currently operates as a foster-based program run solely by volunteers, with 10 homes participating in animal intake and care and is raising money for a brick-and-mortar shelter.

The calendars, shot and edited by Maricopa photographer Victor Moreno, are available for $35 at Earthwise Pet Supply and on the Little Whiskers website.

There will also be a table at Maricopa’s First Friday event.

McCarthy said she ideally wants to sell at least 400 calendars to raise around $10,000 in profit for the shelter, as well as the firefighter association and the police lodge.
