Maricopa fire crews quickly extinguished a garage fire early this afternoon at a home on the corner of Bello Lane and Mughetto Drive in the Sorrento neighborhood.
The blaze was reported just after noon, prompting a large response that included multiple fire trucks, police units, an ambulance and a Southwest Gas vehicle. First responders navigated through an ongoing pavement-preservation project that had already closed half the neighborhood, carefully maneuvering cones to reach the scene.
Neighbors poured out of their homes as firefighters stretched a yellow hose across the street and doused the flames.
No injuries were reported. Crews remained on scene to check for hot spots.
The cause of the fire has not been determined and will be investigated according to standard procedure, said authorities just before 1 p.m. Officials declined to disclose if the garage was occupied at the time the fire sparked.
