A single-car crash into a palm tree on Santa Rosa Parkway this evening marked the third traffic incident of the day for first responders.
Maricopa police and fire crews responded to the crash at Honeycutt Road and Santa Rosa Parkway at 9:51 p.m., according to Phoenix Regional Dispatch.
At the scene, reporters observed three police units, Maricopa Fire and Medical Department’s Ladder Tender 571, and an ambulance blocking the northbound lane of Santa Rosa Parkway, while the southbound lane remained open.
A white Chevrolet Malibu was disabled after striking a palm tree, sustaining front-end damage. Officers spoke with several occupants, who were up and walking, though it was not immediately clear if anyone was transported to a hospital.
InMaricopa has reached out to the Maricopa Police Department for details on the cause of the crash, possible injuries, and whether any citations were issued.

Just after 3 p.m., a 16-year-old girl was taken to the hospital as a precaution after hitting her head when she fell from the hood of a car while making a social media video. At 7:19 p.m., crews responded to a motorcycle crash in the Villages of Rancho El Dorado, where the rider was up and walking around.
