ORIGINAL 6:51 p.m. Mar. 1, 2025 A two-car crash scattered debris all over a major intersection and sent both drivers to the hospital tonight.

Maricopa Police and Fire crews responded to the crash at the intersection of Smith-Enke Road and Porter Road at 5:47 p.m., according to Phoenix Regional Dispatch.

A silver sedan sat disabled in the intersection with a crumpled hood and heavy damage to its front. A blue sedan sat disabled on the southwest corner of the intersection, off the roadway, with deployed airbags and damage to its front.

“Both drivers are being transported to Chandler Regional for minor injuries,” MPD spokesperson Monica Williams told InMaricopa. Neither vehicle had passengers.

One of the driver’s family members said that one driver likely sustained a concussion, while the other had a broken ankle.

Police on the scene redirected eastbound Smith-Enke traffic south onto Porter, and shortly blocked westbound traffic as the silver sedan was removed from the roadway.
