Mountainside Fitness taps Maricopa travel agency for company retreat

[Cruise Planners]

Mountainside Fitness is coming to Maricopa, bringing one of Arizona’s most recognizable fitness brands to the growing community. But the company has already established another local connection: it selected Two Guys and a Passport, a Maricopa-based travel agency, to help coordinate travel for its annual company retreat.

Two Guys and a Passport is also accredited by the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating. For co-owners Valyo Calvert and Tony Weaver, the Mountainside Fitness relationship represents another milestone for a locally owned business that has grown from its Maricopa roots while serving travelers and organizations around the world.

The agency recently coordinated travel logistics in Hawaii for 33 Mountainside Fitness travelers attending the company’s annual retreat. The group traveled to the same destination together, but employees had a variety of activities and experiences to choose from throughout the stay. That meant coordinating transportation for smaller groups at different times based on their selected activities and schedules.

Mountainside VP: ‘We will absolutely be using them year after year’

Following the retreat, Robyn Klawitter, a vice president with Mountainside Fitness, shared a five-star Yelp review describing the company’s experience with Two Guys and a Passport.

“We had an incredible experience working with Two Guys and a Passport for our Mountainside Fitness annual company retreat,” she said.

In her review, Klawitter explained that the agency coordinated ground transportation for 33 people across multiple locations in Hawaii and managed a complicated schedule that could easily have become a logistical headache. She praised the team for making the process “stress-free and seamless” and described them as organized, responsive and dependable.

She also noted that the agency handled the details so Mountainside’s team could focus on enjoying the retreat rather than worrying about transportation.

“We highly recommend Two Guys and a Passport and will absolutely be using them year after year for our company travel needs,” she said.

“With Mountainside Fitness coming to Maricopa, this relationship feels especially meaningful,” Calvert said. “They’re investing in our community, and they also trusted a business based right here in Maricopa with an important company event. Having their leadership say they plan to continue using us year after year is one of the greatest compliments we could receive.”

Local agency, global reach

Two Guys and a Passport launched in 2024 and has continued expanding beyond traditional vacation planning. The agency coordinates customized domestic and international vacations, cruises, resorts, airfare, private transportation, group programs and corporate travel.

Its owners bring extensive aviation and hospitality backgrounds to the business. Calvert has worked in aviation since 2010 and spent more than a decade as a flight attendant, including onboard leadership and premium-service experience. Weaver also has an aviation background and previously worked as a hotel manager in the river cruise industry.

“Corporate travel is very different from simply booking a hotel or flight,” Weaver said. “With 33 people in Hawaii and different activities taking place throughout the retreat, there were a lot of moving pieces behind the scenes. Our job was to coordinate those details so everyone could focus on enjoying the experience.”

Keeping business in Maricopa

For Calvert and Weaver, the Mountainside Fitness relationship is also an example of the opportunities that can emerge as established companies expand into Maricopa. They hope other organizations will recognize that sophisticated group and corporate travel services are available from businesses based right here in the city.

“Maricopa is growing quickly, and we want the companies coming here to know there are local businesses capable of supporting them,” Calvert said. “We’re proud to be based in Maricopa. Our clients may be traveling anywhere in the world, but the expertise and relationship can start right here at home.”

For Two Guys and a Passport, the Mountainside Fitness retreat was about more than coordinating transportation and activities for 33 people in Hawaii. It resulted in a public five-star endorsement from company leadership and the promise of a continuing relationship.

And with Mountainside Fitness preparing to call Maricopa home, an Arizona company coming to the city has already found a local business it plans to take with it wherever it travels next.
