Originally from Iowa, David Iversen made Maricopa his home in 2020 and has quickly become an active member of the growing community. As a journalist, David enjoys telling stories and connecting with people, both through his work and his personal passions.
David is a proud new girl dad, welcoming his daughter in January 2025. At home, he shares life with his family, a dog, and a cat. When he’s not working, you’ll often find him behind a camera capturing the beauty of the world, listening to music, following baseball, or hitting the trails for a run or bike ride. He also enjoys taking his Jeep off-road whenever he gets the chance.
One of the things David appreciates most about Maricopa is its potential. He describes the city as a “blank slate” and believes its rapid growth gives residents a unique opportunity to shape the community into something special. While he loves the city’s momentum and possibilities, he admits that the frustration and road rage often seen along State Route 347 is one aspect of Maricopa he could do without.
If given the opportunity, David’s dream vacation would be an ambitious one—a year-long journey touring the globe. His favorite charity is debra of America, and one of his favorite books is One Hundred Years of Solitude.
With his passion for storytelling, photography, and community, David brings a thoughtful perspective to Maricopa and is excited to see what the city’s future holds.
